Seventy-five years ago, one of the most important military invasions in history happened. On June 6, 1944, the Allied Forces launched what would be the largest amphibious military invasion in history. The success of the operation led to the defeat of Adolf Hitler and the rest of his German Forces. The event has since been known as D-Day.
While D-Day is indeed a vital part of history, not all military invasions are seen in a positive light. In fact, anyone caught between the crossfires of warring forces will readily say that everyone can do without such violence. Sadly, there are countries and terrorist groups who look to military invasions and other violent acts to attain whatever goal they have.
Some people believe military invasions by Russia, China, North Korea or any other country is imminent. That said, it is important for everyone to be prepared in case of such scenarios. Below is a short list of things you can do to survive military invasions.
Stay Low, Stay Calm
Once the enemies are on your soil and has taken over your town or city, it’s wise not to attract attention to oneself. Your ultimate goal is to survive military invasions. That will not be possible if you keep stirring up trouble with the invaders.
Stay at home as much as possible. If you really have to go out, stay low-key. Adapt to concept of the Gray Man. It simply means to blend in with the crowd so you don’t attract attention to yourself. If you blend in, you avoid becoming a target. Here are more pieces of information on how to use the Gray Man theory to your advantage.
Keep your calm. Despite the horror of strangers with guns taking over your homeland, you need to stay calm so you can act wisely. If you let fear or anger takes over, you’re more likely to do something stupid that may cause more problems for you and your family. Remember, there is a time to stay low and a time to fight back. You need to know when is when.
When SHTF, one of the first things you’d worry about is getting food on the table. You simply can’t go out and expect food and water to be readily available at the local grocery store while enemy soldiers are trying to invade your town or country. The risks are too overwhelming that it’s better to stay home.
If that’s the case, you need to have a stockpile of supplies, particularly non-perishable food and drinking water. The more you have hidden in your shelter, the longer you can survive.
Fortify Your Home
With all your supplies and gear, you’re a prime target for invaders looking for anything they can claim for themselves. You need to fortify your home. As a matter of fact, you should still secure your home even if you don’t have any material possession that would interest the attackers. The most important thing in your home is you and your family. You must do everything to protect them.
Start with your home. Aside from making it unpleasant to would-be home invaders, you should also take the precautions to keep them away.
Strengthen your doors and windows. Make sure you use screws at least 3 inches long to attach your door frames, hinges, and window frames to the structure. This will make it harder to kick them down. Since military invasions usually involve guns and explosives, you may want to make your home bullet-proof. This is a bit too expensive for the normal folks but if you have the means, it won’t hurt to install bullet-proof doors and windows.

Build A Bunker
Your house is still vulnerable if the invaders decide to use explosives. You’re best option is to have a bunker under your home or somewhere far and safe. If you’re building one at home, you need to dig deep enough to fit a shipping container. Just make sure to take the necessary precautions for the container not to give in to the weight of the ground as some preppers believe may happen.
If you own a place somewhere in the woods or anywhere that seems safe, you can also build your shelter there. The perfect bug out shelter is well-hidden yet near a body of water. If there’s no water source nearby, you should make sure you have enough clean water stockpiled in your bunker or shelter.
Aside from water, you should hoard food and other supplies. Survival gear is important in this case as you’ll need to make use of what you have to stay alive with the threat of armed invaders looming over your heads.
We’ve been hearing about victims of wars doing what they can to leave their homes or risk getting killed. Despite the hazards of travelling and the risks of getting caught by the armed invaders, these people carry on hoping they make it out alive. Many have not been fortunate.
To avoid such a predicament, you should be ready to evacuate when SHTF. Listen intently to news reports and announcements from the government. Once you hear about such military invasions, you should immediately prepare for what may come.
Aside from stocking up on more supplies and fortifying your home even more, you should prepare for the possibility of evacuation. Prep the rest of the family of what they need to do in case you need to bug out.
Speaking of, you should have bug out bags prepared for each of you. The supplies and gear in your grab bags will help you survive until you find a safer place.
You also need an evacuation plan. Each of you should know where to go and how to get there. It’s not enough to have one planned route to your shelter, bunker or meet-up point. Everyone should study all the possible routes so you have options.

Each bug out bag should contain food and water good for at least three days. If you can carry more without making it too difficult to escape or evade the invaders, then do so. You’ll also need some basic survival gear such as fire starters, flashlights, lanterns, compass, paracord, multi-tool, pocket knife, phone, radio, cookset and a first aid kit.
You’ll need protection from the elements while you’re on your way to your bug out shelter. Pack extra clothes and others that are appropriate for rain and cold weather. You also need a tent and sleeping bag so you can get proper sleep at night. A bivy, meanwhile, will be useful for quick rests or naps.
Other survival gear you should have in your BOBs include a Duct tape, whistle, signal mirror, fishing kit, thermal blanket, among other things. And since you’re dealing with military invasions, it may be wise to have some kind of weapon you can use when things get really bad.
In many cases of military invasions and wars, reservists and even civilians were called upon to defend the territory against the invaders. If you have a high chance of being called up, you need to be ready. The more prepared you are, the higher the chances of returning home in one piece.
You’ll be better off knowing what to do in case you have to join the front line. Take classes or training that will prove useful in the line of fire. Learn how to use firearms and bladed weapons. Hand-to-hand combat will also be useful. Have everyone in the family learn martial arts and self-defense tactics.
There are lots of other things that can help you survive military invasions. You can learn every survival skill there is. Know how to start a fire even without a match or lighter. You should know how to purify water, forage, hunt, fish, and build shelters. All these plus numerous other survival tips can help you survive military invasions. War should never be the answer to any conflict but these things our out of our control. The nest we can do is to persuade world leaders not to engage in warfare and to be prepared in case some terrorist groups decide military invasions are the answer to their problems.
